2018 Events

A few places were we’ve been before as well as some new locations. We have something for everybody, from absolute beginners to experienced swimmers!

Another visit to Resipole and Loch Sunart. As last year, swimmers will be transported to the other side of the loch by boat and then swim back. Registration and car parking facilities will be at Resipole Campsite.

Our third visit to the Sound of Mull, after two very successful swims in previous years. Same as before, swimmers will jump on the ferry and then swim back to Lochaline. Registration and car parking across the Lochaline Hotel.

A second trip to Fort William and Loch Linnhe. Like before, swimmers will be transported to Trislaig and then swim back to Fort William. Registration and car parking at the West End Car Park.

A swim during the Gala Week at Lochaline, from Ardtornish Fish Net Station swimming back to Lochaline Marina. Swimmers will be transported by boat and then swim back. Registration and car parking to be confirmed.

Good for beginners

A first for us – Coll to Tiree. The plan is to meet in Tiree on Sunday morning and then get a boat across to Coll. The swim will be from the south side of Coll back to Caolas in Tiree. If weather is bad for the crossing, we’ll still aim to do a swim in a more sheltered location in Tiree. Due to ferry times, participants have to travel to Tiree on Saturday and return on Monday.

Are you crazy enough for this?

This year the Sunart Water festival held in Strontian has kindly invited us to organised an open water swimming event during their festival. This will be a short swim, ideal for beginners. In addition, there will be plenty of other water-related activities, such as paddle boarding and kayaking, making if a fantastic day for the whole family.

Always an iconic location for us! Usually a swim for January, but this year we’re doing it a little later. Registration on the Corran side, with the possibility of swimming 2-way or just 1-way. For the first time, we’re organising two swims on the same day, so don’t forget to check out the swim at Glencoe!

Falls of Lora is always a popular event! As before, we meet at the car park across from the Oyster Inn and the plan is to swim to the other side and return.
