SWIMMING FOR CHARITY
WHY MONEY FOR CHARITY?
Since the beginning, we knew we wanted to raise money towards a worthy cause. As we grew in popularity and number of participants increased, we realised that we had found the perfect combination to do what we enjoy while at the same bring like-minded people together and raise money for charity.
For the past 3 years, our charity has been Children with Cancer UK, and we've raised £13,307.25 coming from your generous donations. Find our here how your donations helped Children with Cancer UK

This year, we are raising funds for a different charity. One that has become close to our hearts: The Brain Tumour Charity. Sadly, one of our Trustees, Ally Connolly, is currently fighting a brain tumour and this charity means a lot to him.
Last year, The Brain Tumour Charity was recognised as Charity of the Year for their pioneering approach, innovative research solutions and, above all, their community-centred approach to everything they do. We believe we are supporting a worthy cause and their extremely valuable work with Ally and many others affected by this condition. Please help us support this charity.
HOW YOUR DONATIONS
HELP THE BRAIN TUMOUR CHARITY?
At The Brain Tumour Charity, they believe that no one should have to live with a brain tumour or lose a loved one to a brain tumour. Advances in both treatments and quality of life care need to be made – and they need to be made quickly. Committed to saving and improving lives, they're investing in more forward-thinking research, more specialist support services, and passionately lobbying for more urgent change.
WHY THE BRAIN TUMOUR CHARITY?
Ally joined Highland Open Water Swim in 2017, after two years of turmoil following a brain tumour diagnosis in May 2015. However, when he joined us, the tumour had been successfully removed and things seemed to be improving.
The bad news came after the summer in 2018. Routine checks showed that there was something not quite right, and upon further investigation, doctors found that the tumour was growing again.
This was a bit of a blow for the Connollys, but the fight is on. Ally is currently undergoing another round of chemotherapy, and the support from The Brain Tumour Charity has become very important to him and his family.
Help us support this charity in 2019, so that they can go further, faster for Ally and everyone affected by a brain tumour. A cure can't wait. Thank you.
